Job Roles

Purpose

The Job Roles page shows, for each member of a team, the values of nine competencies from their motivation profile. At a glance, you can see who in the team brings which competency most strongly and where the team is well or poorly staffed.

Who can see this?

Administrators, as well as team leaders and users who have the Analyse permission in at least one team (see Teams and permissions). The menu item Team › Job Roles only appears if the product is enabled for your account.

In the Team field, administrators can select any team. Everyone else sees the teams they lead; if they do not lead a team, they see the teams in which they have the Analyse permission.

The table only contains members with a motivation profile.

Layout

Job Roles table with team selection and highlighted top values

  1. Team – Determines which team the table evaluates. The choice also applies to the other pages of the Team group.
  2. Name – Filter field that limits the table to members with the entered name. The color highlighting then compares only the rows that remain.
  3. Download CSV – The download icon at the top right saves the values of the selected team as a CSV file. The file ignores the name filter and shows the values as percentages.
  4. Refresh – The circular-arrow icon requests the values of the selected team again. Newly completed motivation profiles appear this way after about a minute at the latest.
  5. Highlighted values – Red marks the highest and orange the second highest value of a column. Only the rows of the current page are compared, and if values are equal after rounding, all affected rows are marked.

Functions

Select a team

The page puts the members of a team side by side, so that you can see who brings which competency most strongly. The values come from the most recently completed motivation profile of each member in MatchLytics-Management or MatchLytics-Assessment; members without complete competency values are missing. The team you select also applies to the other pages of the Team group until you reload the application. The page only reads data and changes nothing.

  1. Open Team › Job Roles.
  2. Select the desired team in the Team field.

The table shows one row per member with the Name column and the nine competencies.

Read the values

The nine competencies are created when the motivation profile is evaluated and are stored with the result; the table shows them rounded. Each competency is based on the same basic needs as one of the nine roles of the Ideal role assignment in the Team Profile; the table assigns the two to each other. The colors compare the members of a column with each other.

Competency Basic needs Role in the Team Profile
Advise Security (green) and Specialization (blue) Specialist
Analyze Specialization (blue) Perfectionist
Control Security (green) and Rationality (black) Controller
Coordinate Affiliation (yellow) and Specialization (blue) Coordinator
Develop Assertion (red) and Specialization (blue) Developer
Force Assertion (red) Entrepreneur
Motivate Assertion (red) and Affiliation (yellow) Motivator
Realize Assertion (red) and Rationality (black) Realizer
Support Affiliation (yellow) and Empathy (white) Supporter

In every column:

  • Red marks the highest value.
  • Orange marks the second highest value.
  • If several members have the same rounded value, all of them are marked. The remaining values stay unmarked.

The table initially shows 10 rows per page. The marking only compares the rows currently displayed; in larger teams or with a name filter, it therefore only applies to the current page. A red value is the best among these rows, not necessarily a high value.

Filter by name

The filter helps you find a member quickly in larger teams. It only affects the display in this table and thereby also changes the color highlighting, because that compares the rows that are on the current page after filtering. The team, permissions and the CSV export remain untouched.

Enter a name or part of a name in the filter field below the Name column heading. The other columns cannot be filtered.

CSV export

The export hands over the competency values of the team for further processing outside the application. The file contains all named members of the team with a motivation profile, even with an active name filter or on a later table page, and the values as rounded percentages. Members without a motivation profile appear neither in the table nor in the file.

  1. Select the team.
  2. Click Download CSV (download icon) at the top right of the table.

The browser downloads the file jobroles_<team name>.csv. The export changes no data and sends no email. If it fails, “The CSV file could not be created.” appears.

Notes

The Role column of the employee table is hidden by default and only names the competency with the highest value of each member. This page, in contrast, shows all nine values and compares them within the team. The combined competencies of the whole team are shown on the “Competencies” slide of the Team Analysis.
