Teams and permissions
Purpose
Teams and permissions determine which employees you can see and analyze in MatchLytics-Management. Administrators define them under Administration › Users & Teams: they determine the team leader and assign the permissions List, View and Analyse to each member. The screens are the same as in the Controlboard and are described there. This page shows where to find them in MatchLytics-Management and what the permissions do here.
Who can see this?
Administrators only. The Administration menu is hidden for team leaders and users. Prerequisite: MatchLytics-Management is enabled for your account.
Layout
The Administration › Users & Teams menu contains the items User and Teams. Both open the same screens as Company › User and Company › Teams in the Controlboard.
| Task | Menu item in MatchLytics-Management | Description in the Controlboard |
|---|---|---|
| Create, edit, block and delete users, reset passwords | Administration › Users & Teams › User | Users |
| Create teams, add members, determine the team leader, assign permissions | Administration › Users & Teams › Teams | Teams and permissions |
Functions
Permissions and their effect in MatchLytics-Management
The permissions apply per team and per member and build on each other: Analyse includes View and List, View includes List. The team leader has all permissions in their team. The server checks the permissions on every request, and the application builds the menu from them at login. How you assign the permissions is described under Teams and permissions in the Controlboard. In MatchLytics-Management, they have the following effect:
| Permission | What the user sees in MatchLytics-Management |
|---|---|
| List | all members of the team in the list on Team › Employee |
| View | additionally the members’ results with the Situation, Motivation Profile and Short Profile tabs |
| Analyse | additionally the Match, Employee Portrait and Interview Guidelines tabs for members of this team and the Team Profile, Team Analysis and Job Roles menu items |
Without a permission, a user only sees their own profile. Every click on a permission in the team details is saved immediately, and the affected user receives no email. Withdrawing a permission also withdraws the permissions that build on it; the user sees the new menu items, or their disappearance, after the next login.
Team task
The team task describes the work of the team and is maintained directly with the employees rather than on a settings page. The application calculates the members’ match against it, which appears on the Match tab. Team leaders and administrators choose it on Team › Employee in the Work Task field. The selection offers the predefined job profiles and the target profiles of the active positions.
- Open Team › Employee and select a team.
- In the Work Task field, select the team task.
The application saves the selection immediately and confirms it with “Team task updated”; no email is sent. More details are available under Employees and motivation profiles.
Notes
The Team Profile, Team Analysis and Job Roles menu items appear as soon as a user has the Analyse permission in at least one team. A user who is entered as team leader in a team automatically receives the team leader role when signing in. The team evaluations are described in Team Profile, Job Roles and Team Analysis. If a team has more than 10 members, the app warns against it because this can lead to organizational problems; see the page Optimal team size for more. The “Settings” page of earlier versions no longer exists.
