Basic needsEmpathy
Empathy acknowledges your own feelings and those of others. The need for empathy is also vital. Without empathy, we would not be able to assess the consequences of our actions. Empathy motivates us to treat each other responsibly and without prejudice. We want to experience the good core in every person. This requires an open awareness. We make room inside for the experience of another person. We see and hear the world through their eyes and ears. And we begin to understand ourselves and our fellow human beings “from the inside”, so to speak."
Emotional perception (white) strives for inner and outer harmony. The abilities of intuition and imagination make it possible to perceive complex interactions and weigh up the consequences of actions. Empathy can therefore be described as empathy with matter. “Surrendering to the flow of the cosmos” and allowing oneself to be guided by feelings is what makes such a person. Empathy helps to get a feeling for the possible consequences in complex situations. Being able to empathize with others is an existential prerequisite for working together in communities. It is about being able to react appropriately to the feelings of others. The ability to empathize with others makes it possible to assess the emotions triggered. Empathy is an associative perception of one’s own life and that of others with all senses. It enables a quality of life and relationship in a depth and intensity that defies linguistic description. Joy, harmony, love and an inexpressible knowledge of each other is what the empathy component strives for.
Empathic learning means imitation. The need strives for fulfillment, which is led by the image of the other soul. This function remains intact for a lifetime. When harmony is disrupted, the empathy part reacts with despair and horror when something dramatic happens to others or to the self. In summary, the need for empathy, like belonging, focuses on striving for unity with one’s fellow human beings.
