Cognition wants to recognize reality objectively and use the mind. The need for knowledge is existential, because without seeing (or at least feeling; dummy: end;’> the way, we would not be able to get anywhere. This basic need includes rational thinking and objective perception. Both require concentration. We place the object or event that we want to recognize at the center of our consciousness. The feelings withdraw so that we can now perceive and think objectively.
A person is motivated by rational motives, causal and logical connections. The need wants to recognize, think through and understand. In this way, the fulfilled need enables orientation and a meaningful justification of decisions. In order to analyze things, such a person needs fixed structures. Reality must be recorded truthfully in order to assess risks and work out opportunities. Through seeing, hearing, feeling, smelling and tasting, countless pieces of information are transported into the brain at every moment. This information must be structured in such a way that it is useful for comparisons, evaluations and decisions. The need for knowledge is fulfilled when structures of order and comparison are created. With this information, people will be able to actively and consciously plan and evaluate or create situations. Figures, data and facts are used to strive for logical and intelligent solutions.
