User interface layout

Purpose

This page explains the areas you find on every page of the Controlboard: the menu, the header with help, language menu and profile menu, the work area and the footer, as well as the buttons TwentyFive Assistant and Send Bug Report. It also describes the view on small screens.

Who can see this?

All roles. The menu shows administrators the items Applications, Company, E-Mails and Settings. All other roles only see the item Applications in the menu.

Layout

Layout of the Controlboard user interface with the Applications page

  1. Menu – Leads to the pages of the Controlboard. Besides Applications, administrators see Company (with User, Teams and Reports), E-Mails and Settings.
  2. Collapse and expand button – Hides or shows the labels of the menu, so that only the icons remain. The browser remembers the state.
  3. Name of the application – Shows in the header which application you are working in, here as the gray chip sense.AI.tion Controlboard. In the applications, their own name appears here.
  4. Help – Opens the help text for the page that is currently open in a dialog above the page.
  5. Language menu – Changes the language of the interface immediately and without signing in again. Applications you switch into afterwards open in this language.
  6. Profile menu – Shows your name and opens a menu with role, company switch, settings, theme and sign-out when clicked.
  7. Work area – Shows the content of the page you chose in the menu, here the cards of the Applications page.
  8. TwentyFive Assistant – Opens a chat in which you ask questions about the TwentyFive method. The answers come from a knowledge base of sense.AI.tion; data of your company is not used.
  9. Send Bug Report – Opens the Report a Bug form, with which you send errors to sense.AI.tion.
  10. Footer – Names sense.AI.tion GmbH and leads to version information, the roadmap, company information and the legal notices.

Functions

Collapse and expand the menu

The menu is the navigation through the Controlboard. Which items it shows depends on your role: all roles see Applications, the other items only administrators. Collapsed, it leaves more room for the work area, and the icons stay reachable. The browser stores the state, so it also applies the next time you visit.

In the header, click the button to the left of the name of the application. When the menu is collapsed, the navigation only shows icons. Clicking the logo at the top of the menu opens the Applications page.

Open the help

The help text explains the page you currently have open. The Controlboard loads it from the online help of sense.AI.tion (help.senseaition.com) in your interface language and in the matching color mode. The help exists per page, not per function, and it is maintained separately from this documentation. The question mark only appears if a help text exists for the page.

  1. In the header, click the question mark.
  2. Read the help text in the dialog. Use Close to close the dialog.

The page behind the dialog stays unchanged, and no data is saved.

Change the language

The language menu changes the interface language for you personally; the company and the other users stay untouched. The browser stores the choice, and when you switch into an application, the Controlboard passes it on, so the application opens in the same language. Documents and emails of your company, by contrast, follow the document language that administrators set under Settings › Customer.

  1. In the header, click the language menu.
  2. Select the language you want.

The interface switches immediately. The language menu offers Deutsch, English, 한국어, Italiano, Suomi, Français and Español. You can switch back at any time. For more details, see Localization and language.

Open the profile menu

The profile menu gathers what concerns your account and the current session: signing out, switching the company, your user data and the theme. Name, role and company come from your user account and from the company you are signed in with. In the applications the profile menu looks similar, but has no Settings entry there, and the Control Board button replaces the sign-out icon.

In the header, click your name.

Profile menu of the Controlboard

  1. Name and role – Shows the name of your user account and your role, for example Administrator or User. The role decides which menu items you see.
  2. Sign-out icon – Ends your session in the Controlboard; its tooltip reads Log out. In an application, the Control Board button appears here and leads back to the Controlboard.
  3. Company – Shows the logo and name of the company you are currently working in. An arrow appears only if your account is assigned to several companies; a click then opens the list for switching.
  4. Settings – Opens your user data. Administrators also find the settings of the company there (see Settings).
  5. Theme: … – Opens the choice of the design of the interface; the current choice follows the colon. The choice applies only in this browser.

Switch the company

If your account can work in several companies, you switch the company here without signing in again. For this the Controlboard opens a session for the selected company and reloads all data: application cards, menu, users, teams and settings then belong to the new company, and applications you start afterwards also open in this company. Which companies are available is stored on your account.

If your account is assigned to several companies, the profile menu shows an arrow next to the company name.

  1. Open the profile menu.
  2. Click the company name.
  3. Under Select customer, choose the company you want. A check mark marks the current company.

Use the arrow at the top left to return to the profile menu. If the switch is not possible, the message “Switching to this company is not possible!” appears. You can undo the switch at any time in the same way; the system logs it. No emails are sent in the process.

Choose the theme

The theme decides whether the Controlboard appears light, dark or matching the setting of your device. The choice affects only you and only this browser, it is stored there and changes no data of your company. The help dialog also follows the chosen theme.

  1. Open the profile menu.
  2. Click Theme: …. The current choice follows the colon, for example Theme: System theme.
  3. Under Theme, choose System theme, Dark theme or Light theme.

The interface switches immediately, and you can change the choice at any time.

Chat with the assistant

The TwentyFive Assistant answers questions about the TwentyFive method. It draws on a knowledge base of sense.AI.tion and sees only the conversation you have, not the data of your company, users or teams. The server stores the history of your conversation per user, so that it continues the next time you open it. The button appears on the pages Applications, User, Teams, E-Mails and Settings.

  1. At the bottom right, click the button Chat with Assistant.
  2. Type your question in the input field of the TwentyFive Assistant window.
  3. Send the question with the Enter key or with Send message.

TwentyFive Assistant window

  1. Title bar – Carries the title TwentyFive Assistant and two buttons. Clear conversation appears only while a conversation exists and empties the history on the server as well, Minimize chat closes the window.
  2. Conversation – Shows your questions and the answers of the assistant in the order of the conversation. The chat waits up to five minutes for an answer; if a question fails, repeat it with Retry message.
  3. Input field – Takes your question with at most 1000 characters, a counter shows the length. The Enter key sends the question, the Escape key closes the window.
  4. Send message – Sends the question to the assistant. While an answer is pending, the button is locked.
  5. Send Bug Report – The round button at the bottom opens the form for reporting an error. It does not belong to the chat but appears on every page.

While the assistant answers, “Assistant is typing…” appears in the history. Clear conversation takes effect without confirmation and cannot be undone; a new conversation begins afterwards. The next time you open the chat, the assistant loads the previous history.

Send a bug report

With Send Bug Report you report an error without leaving the page. The report goes directly to sense.AI.tion, not to your administrator, and contains your name, your email address and your description. The button appears on every page of the Controlboard, including the login page, so you can also report sign-in problems.

  1. At the bottom right, click the button Send Bug Report.
  2. In the Report a Bug form, fill in the fields Name, Email and Description. Describe what does not work and what you expected.
  3. Click Send Bug Report. Use Cancel to discard the report.

After sending, “Thank you for your report!” appears. A report that has been sent cannot be withdrawn.

Use the footer

The footer sits at the end of every page of the Controlboard and points to information outside the application. The links Version and Roadmap lead to the online help on help.senseaition.com in the language of your interface; the other links open the website of sense.AI.tion. All links open in a new tab, and your session in the Controlboard is not affected.

The footer names sense.AI.tion GmbH and contains these links:

  • Version and Roadmap – versions and planning.
  • About – information about the company; the link only appears on wide screens.
  • Privacy policy and Impressum – the legal information.

Mobile view

On screens narrower than 1266 pixels, the Controlboard rearranges the menu and the header so that the work area can use the full width. Menu, help, language menu and profile menu offer the same functions as on a computer; only their arrangement changes. The view depends solely on the width of the window, not on the device.

Controlboard on a smartphone

  1. Button for opening the menu – Slides the menu over the page. A click next to the menu or on a menu item closes it again.
  2. Name of the application – Names the application you are working in and stays in the header on small screens too.
  3. Three-dot icon – Opens a bar that combines help, language menu and profile menu, because the header is too narrow for them.
  4. Application cards – Arrange themselves one below the other when the width is small. A tap on a card starts the application as on a computer.
  5. TwentyFive Assistant and Send Bug Report – Stay reachable as round buttons at the bottom right and open the same windows as on a computer.

In the help dialog, the help text fills the entire screen on screens narrower than 768 pixels.

Notes

You return to the Controlboard from an application with the Control Board button in the profile menu of the application (see Applications).
